The Safe Load Indicator (SLI) or the Automatic Safe Load Indicator (ASLI) is a device that is attached to a mobile or portal crane to alert the operator if the elevator exceeds the safe operating range of the machine. In some cases, the device will physically lock the machine in a state that is considered unsafe. The SLI system usually consists of a microprocessor connected to various sensors on the crane itself. SLI measures the angle and expansion of the boom along with the load load and compares it with the manufacturer's specifications to determine whether the lift is safe.
The secure load indicator has the ability to detect angles, heavy lifting loads, and ground radius of any lifting device. It controls the lifting equipment to a level that tries to keep the engine functioning according to the manufacturer's suggested safety chart.
The crane is equipped with several sensors, for each measured parameter, which is then displayed further in the operator cabin for the benefit.
