The Ford Focus (third generation) , also known as Focus Mk III , (Code name: C346) debuted at the 2010 North American International Auto Show as a 2012 model. the car featured is a 4-door sedan and 5-door hatchback, also debuted a new 2.0L direct injection I4 engine. A 5-door estate (wagon) was previewed at the Geneva auto show a month later.
This Focus Generation will be the first Ford vehicle designed under CEO Alan Mulally and his "One Ford" plan, which aims to leverage Ford's global resources to create more competitive vehicles that can be sold globally in every segment with changes minimal.
The "One Ford" plan will reunite the North American and global Focus lines. Therefore, previous North American versions were discontinued, and new models were launched simultaneously in North America and Europe on May 2, 2011, both beginning production near the end of 2010. Design
The design was built in Ford Kinetic Design. The lights on the front have different shapes. The trapezoidal grille features a triangle. At the rear, the hatchback tail light is positioned lower, similar to the Ford Fiesta. The interior has been changed from the second generation in NA and International versions. Ford wants to make the Focus so much more classy that it offers two types of center consoles: this base is associated with smaller engines and premiums available for more powerful engines.
This Focus Generation combines redesigned cabins, altered materials, and new "infotainment" systems. Transmission reliability issues
Along with the Ford Fiesta, the Focus equipped with the Ford DPS6 PowerShift transmission has received much criticism due to shivering transmission, including some lemon law claims. The problem is due to the dry type grips associated with the gasoline model. Ford's current response is to replace the assembly of the coupling package (with the updated section) when the vibration exceeds 250 rpm (after customer complaints). This proves to be a short-term drug because it is not unusual for the clutch package to be replaced every 6,000 miles (9,700 km).
There are at least 6 revisions of coupling package and transmission control module from the beginning. The newer coupling and transmission packages are more resistant to usage and fluid contamination, since the source of many vibration issues involves a seal that is not installed properly that leaks the transmission fluid to dry grips. Ford also claims there is "Changes in clutch material for better performance across the entire temperature range (new for 2016)." Some consumer complaints are due to normal transmission operation characteristics, because DPS6 does not contain a torque converter fluid clutch and does not behave similar to traditional torque converter transmissions, instead sharing some of the characteristics found in traditional manual transmissions.
North American Market
Like most other non-European markets, only 4-door sedans and 5-door hatchbacks are offered in the United States and Canada. EPA rated fuel economy in 28 cities/38 hwy MPG for automatic 6-speed, and 26 city/36 hwy MPG for 5-speed manual. The SFE package, which can only be added to the SE trim sedan with semi-automatic semi-automatic semi-automatic transmission, improves road fuel economy up to 40 MPG. Running changes
The color choices were limited during the summer of 2011, due to supply problems caused by the 2011 Japan earthquake/tsunami. When dark and dark blue returned they were replaced by different nuances, although Kona Blue's removal for Sonic Blue was planned.

Focus models equipped with conventional manual transmissions have not been affected by reliability issues.
European Market
The UK range is available in hatchbacks and estate (wagons) in a large number of trim variants including. Focus ST
